Say you're really, really good in badminton, tennis, squash, or say table tennis..
and you're playing against your friend(s) just for fun k..
Your friend(s) is an average player, say skilled enough to return shots..

So,
Do you play your best with your friend(s) or do you give chance to him?

Or put it this way.. say you're the average player, would you prefer if your friend play at his/her best or give you some chance?

Haha, sounds silly right =D, it's something I thought about when I couldn't sleep last night haha =D

See... if you play your best... your friend might say, "Oi, give some chance la!!"
He might think.. "whoa this guy don't give any chance also, playing for fun only mah.."

But, by playing at your best.. your friend might get better (debatable, might not make any difference to some of us right, we still don't get any better ^^)
Also, your friend might feel good that you're not toying with him or taking it easy and giving him chance haha (don't you feel bad when your friend is just taking it easy on you while you're furiously running around the court, and then he/she's hardly putting any effort and smirks at you =D ooof the pain)

But say you do give your friend a chance.. he/she might think you're toying with them..
but some people will prefer that you give them some chance la right, play for fun only after all..

So how so how?
Haha, use your left hand and play your best =D
or do some funny and weird shots like between the legs shot or backwards shot just to make it more fun (fuh I like doing those funny stuff)
Aiyah, don't think about it, whatever it is just make sure you have fun..
and if you're the chun player, don't go bullying others for the sake of self-satisfaction laa k, all people wanna do is have fun after all so chill bros n sis =D

And then this morning went to DFO to shop for some cheap clothes,
Wah, they bought a lot of stuff for their children...
they called me up just now to ask for some help, "Eh Joey ah, got any extra hand carry bag or not, auntie ran out of space to pack our things lah"
HAHA! rockers, super funny man
Sad... they're leaving tomorrow, can't wait to see you all again in December =)

Futsal Competition 2009

Played futsal during the last mid-sem break in April,
thought I should post about it =D
This is an annual competition organized by the Actuarial Students SOCiety (ASSOC)
We entered last year as well, as some of you know, we did badly hahaha
Last year, we didn't make it pass the group stages,
1st match loss 4-6
2nd match drew 0-0
3rd match loss 0-6
After that, we planned that we'll reach the quarters in the 2nd year, reach the semis in the 3rd year, and reach the finals in the 4th year and hope to win it!
So then came this year.....

Strategy planning... or not...(Ked: eh check out that chick )

We had an extra member this year, Hafiz, the Malay dude in the pic above
He made a difference, he's really good, he played defender/sweeper.
Last year I was defender, but after Hafiz took my spot I got to be STRIKER!!
Yes, it's my favourite position, love playing striker
Other than that, the team was the same from last year, and our team name this year is

TEAM TAM!!

Some of you might know that Australia has a chocolate biscuit called Tim Tam,

so yeah, our team is named after that... although, our opponents didn't get it... =(

Our opponents were in the toilet and 1 of my teammates was there too,

1 of them asked, "Who're we playing against next?"

1 of them replied, "Hurmm.. we're playing against... TAM"

OMGOSH!

There were so many rules, some of which are kinda weird:

1) 4 players for 1 team on the court, 1 keeper and 3 other players (had to do so much RUNNING, I'm getting old)

2) Keeper can't come out of his semi-circle (there was this small-ish semi-circle), if not a penalty's awarded
3) No players can enter the keeper's semi-circle except the keeper himself, if not, penalty awarded

4) Keeper can't throw the ball pass the half way line

5) NO SLIDING (I got penalised for that, deng)
6) No clinging on to the side nets

7) If a girl scores a goal, that team is awarded 2 goals instead of 1 (AND A GIRL ACTUALLY SCORED AGAINST US)

1st match: THRASHED, HAMMERED, TAU PAU-ED 3-10

HAHA, these guys were graduates, they were taller, MUCH fitter,

we were stunned.

I manage to score 3 consolation goals

2nd match: Won 4-2

Ok, this was a bit embarrassing, cos a girl scored against us in the most fashionable way

So.. game just started, and their team gets the kick-off at the halfway line...

the girl starts the kick-off by SHOOTING straight...

ball passes through and in between 3 of us...

and beats the keeper.... STUNNED.. and they were 2-0 up!

that girl was REALLY good, seriously...

lesson learned: never underestimate a girl in futsal... even the referee was laughing.... deng

Anyway, scored back and won 4-2

Scored 3 of the 4 goals

3rd match: Won 7-3

This was the deciding match, had to win, and we did

No girl drama/issue (thankfully)

Scored 4 of the 7 goals

And by that victory, our plan came through! We qualified for quarterfinals =D

Quarterfinal: Lost 4-6

Ah well, we did our best...

we gave the excuse that we had to stick to our plan that this year was to get to quarters and we'll leave semis for next year... haha

But nah, we did our best
Scored the 4 goals

Next year, we're gonna import my bro Aaron, and aim for the semis!!

Tomorrow, grandparents are leaving to Malaysia
This means bro and I will have the unit to ourselves
This means... we have to cook our own meals now
I'm never a big fan of cooking, HUGE fan of eating, need to find a cooking wife
Eh Mel, don't forget to cook for Gene and I your mee goreng k

Random stuff:

1) Can't stop myself from eating chips and chocolates (tim tam), every now and then I'll just grab some and start munching, sorry bro, the choc's gone cos of me =D

2) Wanna learn violin man, check this girl out on youtube, Sue Son, violinist... Ken we learn violin together k

3) Going crazy over stats at the moment, it's just so hard to understand, words can't describe how frustrating I am with its complexity, ahh.. God help me

4) Miss playing futsal with my college mates, S7, our team rox then yeah =D can't wait to play again once I get back to Msia

Was watching the Man U - Arsenal match at a nearby club with Aaron, loud music, lots of drinks, people dancing, playing pool..

halfway during the game, there was fire at the club, didn't see it but we could smell it,

saw few people running to get the extinguisher and put the fire out,

nothing big, Aaron and I just remained in our seat and watch the match

One of the security came to me and took my cap off, I'm not sure why they don't allow caps in clubs..

Other than that, nothin much as been happening, just catching up on my uni work..

Exam is in 3 weeks time!!! so soon =(

Probably start my hardcore studying from tomorrow onwards (deng, say only, hope I do it haha)

Ahhh! Stress time =(

Oh well, here comes winter break!!

Belgian Beer Cafe

We had an outing on Wednesday night,
it was with my friends from church, it was for 'young adults' (dengg adult di, but still young yay =D)
Went to this place called the Belgian Beer Cafe at The Rocks

It's pretty big, we were seating upstairs

Alcohol on the left =D haha

Specialty is mussels!

There was an offer that day, all mussel dishes are half priced =D

So you pay 13 dollars for that big pot of mussels plus chips haha

Bro didn't have mussels cos he's just not much of a seafood fan

I ordered escargot mussels, which was mussels with cheese

Everyone's mussels came with huge pots but mine just came with a plate

and it was small portion as well, I got cheated, grrr =(

My plate is the one on the left of the red shirt girl, my mussels were TINY

I was a bit confused, I thought escargot were snails

Was a fun night, some of them went for some coffee after dinner, bro and I didn't go, head back home instead cos we were tired

I didn't have any alcohol, Joey is a good boy right, haha, I know =D

actually.. I should have had some, aww

Leg cramped today =(

played badminton at uni for 2hours straight nonstop, no rest at all

fuh, damn tired, went for lectures after that, lecture finished early today

so we played basketball, played for about an hour and my leg just gave in haha

we were having a friendly match with another team, had to stop the match cos of me haha

Movie Outing

Went to watch StarTrek today and it was awesem!!!!
Never watch the series before, but after the movie it makes me wanna watch it
Didnt get to watch xmen origins though, but i've already seen it before, althought the one I saw was the unedited version, hilarious, you can see people with the harness flying around~
and all those unedited computer graphics without its colour, dummies flying here and there~
and I set a personal record, finished a mcd's cheeseburger regular meal in 5 mins =D
indigestion~ oh well, couldn't afford to miss trailers for TRANSFORMERS 2!!


I've already booked my flight tickets back to msia end of the year
gonna go to Brisbane first and stay there for bout 4 days with Eugenius
then we're flying together to Bali, Indonesia and sleep in the airport (God please keep us safe ty!) a night, then fly back to kl reaching on the 10th dec
Mum said that people might think we're gay couples, nice one mum, very funny

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

First and foremost, Happy Mother's Day to my dearest mommy back in Msia, love you loads mum. Gave her a call to just wish her, didn't do anything special. She was just telling me her wonderful trip to Cambodia and how it was an interesting experience for her. Ivan made something great for mum, I was stunned, good job Ivan *pats back*, ask him what he made for mum.

Apparently there were a lot of asians especially koreans and japanese, so one of the guy over there greeted mum 'konichiwa' (good afternoon in japanese), mum was blur when she heard it and turn to dad who told her what it was, that guy thought my mum was korean, so that's where I get my korean look as well. So many aussies thought that I was korean, saying it's my eyes o.O wahaha, I'm msian!!

Since today's a special day, Aaron and I went over to our aunt's place for lunch, our cousins and nieces (ahhhh cute Alyssa) were there as well. Had 1 of my favourite dish for lunch, pasta! I have to show Alyssa's pic

Fuf (pronounced as foof), I personally like the 2nd pic, she has a future in modelling. Some guy adult called the house through the phone looking for my aunt, I suspect he's an asian by the way he speaks, anyway, I was the one who picked up the phone and while I went looking for my aunt, Alyssa picked up the phone and started talking, she said "Harlo, how are you??", haha I got back and picked it back up and apologised, he was laughing, haha, and I just told him to call back cos my aunt was asleep =P alyssa's so cute

Anyway, I'm happy I finally started a blog, been wanting to start one in a while. Got 2 assignments due this week, and my uni friends want to go watch xmen origin and startrek this Tuesday, I heard startrek is good according to Kf and cousin Elvin, 2 movies in 1 day, it's hard for me to say no to movies, I love it =) So I've to work on my assignments quick! Ah, stats, you're such a killer =(
